Ingredients

  • 3 cups cabbage shredded finely
  • 1/2 cup onions
  • 2 green chillies chopped fine
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp grated coconut
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • a few curry leaves
  • 1 tsp oil
  • salt to taste

 

Method

  • Heat the oil in a kadai
  • Add mustard seeds and curry leaves
  • Add the onions and green chillies and saute till the onions turn transparent.
  • Add turmeric powder.
  • Add the cabbage and salt and cook covered till done.
  • Before taking off the flame, add grated coconut and mix well.

Grated carrots and peas can also be added to the cabbage for variations
