Description A delicious gravy with shrimp and boiled eggs

Ingredients

3 cups medium sized shrimp shelled and deveined

6 hard boiled eggs

3 cups grated onions

3 tbsp cashew or almond paste

4 tbsp tomato paste

2 tbsp ginger garlic paste

4 tsp chilli powder

2 tsp coriander powder

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

1/4 tsp garam masala

salt to taste

1 inch piece cinnamon

2 cloves

2-3 pods cardamon

2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

3 tbsp oil

 

Method

  • Boil the eggs and make 3-4 slits (not too deep) on the sides so as to absorb the masala

For the shrimp

  • Marinate the shrimp with a little turmeric powder, chilli powder, ginger garlic paste and salt for n hour
  • Take the shrimp in a pan and cook them till done on a slow flame
  • Keep aside

For the gravy

  • Take the oil in a pan and heat it
  • Add the cinnamon, cloves and cardamon
  • Add the grated onions and cook till they brown
  • Add the ginger garlic paste and cook for a while
  • Add the turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala and salt and saute
  • Add the cashew / almond paste and cook till the gravy starts bubbling
  • Divide the gravy into 2 halves
  • Add the shrimp to half the gravy and let it cook till the shrimp absorbs the masala (about 5 mins)
  • Do the same with the eggs and the other half of the gravy
  • Combine the 2 gravies
  • Add the tomato paste and chopped coriander leaves and a little water
  • Cover the pan and cook for another 5 mins
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves
