Ingredients
3 tbsp thuvar dhal
2Â medium tomatoes
1 tsp julliene of ginger
2 green chillies slit lenghtwise
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
5-6 curry leaves
1/4 tsp mustard seeds
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp jeera
1/4 tsp coriander seeds
2 tbsp Lemon juice
5-6 crushed garlic pods
1 tsp oil
salt to taste
1 tsp chopped coriander leaves
a pinch of hing
Method
- Boil the thuvar dhal with the turmeric powder and salt with lots of water
- Crush the tomatoes along with the dhal and boil for sometime along with a few pods of garlic, ginger , green chillies and a little chopped coriander leaves
- Grind the pepper , jeera and coriander seeds to a coarse powder
- Heat the oil and add the mustard seeds, hing, curry leaves, crushed pepper jeera powder, garlic
- Add this to the dhal and tomato
- Add the lime juice and cook for sometime
- Garnish with coriander leaves
