Description
A light snack made with string hoppers tossed with onions and green chillies
Ingredients
- One packet instant idiyappam
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onions
- 2 green chillies chopped
- 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
- 5-6 curry leaves
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp oil
- a handful of peanuts
- salt to taste
- juice of one lemon
- chopped coriander leaves for garnishing
Method
- Cook the idiyappam as per the instructions on the packet. Allow it to cool
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add the mustard seeds and curry leaves
- Add the onions and green chilles and saute till the onions are transparent
- Add the turmeric powder and salt.
- Add the cooked idiyappam and gently toss.
- Add the lemon juice and peanuts and mix well.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves
Serve with coconut or tomato or ginger chutney
