Description
A delicious yogurt based curry with ripe mangoes.
Ingredients
- 2 cups ripe mango pieces cubed
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- salt to taste
- 2 cups thick yogurt
For the paste
- 1/2 cup grated coconut
- 5 green chillies
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 inch piece ginger
For the tempering
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 3-4 dry red chillies
- a few curry leaves
- 2 tsp oil
Method
- Cook the mango pieces in a little water along with the turmeric and chilli powder till the pieces are soft
- Grind the ingredients for the paste finely
- Add the ground paste to the cooked mango pieces
- Beat the yogurt well and add it to the mango
- Heat the oil, add the mustard seeds, red chillies and curry leaves
- Add this seasoning to the yogurt and allow it to simmer for a few minutes
- Season with salt
Take care to see that the yogurt does not curdle.
