Description
A spicy gravy made with soya nuggets and vegetables
Ingredients
- 1 cup soya nuggets
- 1 cup diced capsicum or potatoes
- 1 cup grated onions
- 1Â tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 tsp chilli powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/4 tsp garam masala
- 2 tbsp cashew paste
- 3 tbsp tomato paste
- salt to taste
- 3 tbsp oil
- chopped coriander leaves
Method
- Soak the soya nuggets in hot water for at least an hour
- Drain them and marinate them with a little ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, chilli powder and salt
- Heat the oil in a kadai
- Add the grated onions and saute them till they are golden in colour
- Add the remaining ginger garlic paste and saute
- Add the turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala and salt.
- Add the cashew paste and a few coriander leaves and fry for a few minutes on a slow flame.
- At this stage you can add the vegetables and the soya nuggets and fry them with the masala
- Add some water and cover the pan. Cook on a slow flame till the nuggets are soft and the vegetables are cooked. (You can also steam them in a pressure cooker for 10 mins)
- Add the tomato paste and simmer for some more time
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves
