Description:
Boneless chicken in a rich, coconut milk curry
Ingredients:
2 packets of Costco Foster Farms Boneless Skinless Chicken (place in warm water for 45 minutes to thaw)- cut into cubes
I medium onion chopped fine
3 tsp dhanya powder
1 tsp garam masala
1.5 Â Cups yogurt
3/4 can Coconut Milk
Cilantro
Cinnamon sticks , cardamon, cloves, ginger garlic paste
Preparation Method:
Add oil to the hot pan
Add 1 cinnamon stick, 3 cardamon cloves, 3-4 cloves
Add the onions- saute until golden brown
Add 3 tsp ginger garlic paste
Make sure the ginger garlic gets cooked well- the color and smell will change (see photo)
Add 1.5 tsp turmeric
Add the chicken
Cook 3/4th of the way
Add 1 tsp salt
1.5 tsp chilli powder
Turn the heat to medium
Cook the meat well in the ginger garlic onion paste
Don’t add the dhanya powder till the meat is well cooked
Let the water which comes out from the chicken get fully reabsorbed
Add 3 tsp dhanya powder
1 tsp garam masala
Let the meat cook well in the powders
Only add the yogurt when the meat has been completley cooked
Add 1.5 cups of yogurt (this with the coconut milk makes the gravy-yogurt determines the sourness of the curry)
Add 3/4 can of full fat coconut milk
Let the chicken cook well in the yogurt/coconut milk– on medium low heat about 10 minutes
Add cilantro to garnish.
