Description Perfect with Idlis and Dosas
Ingredients
- 1 cup grated coconut
- 1/2 cup fried gram
- 2-3 green chillies
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 5-6 curry leaves
- 1 inch piece of ginger
- 2 red chillies ( optional)
- 2 tsps oil
- a pinch of hing
- salt to taste
- 1 tbsp curd ( optional)

Method
- Heat half the oil in a kadai.
- Fry roasted gram, green chillies and ginger
- Combine the coconut, gram, chillies, ginger and salt in a blender with just enough water to make a thick paste.
- Heat the remaining oil.
- Add the mustard seeds, curry leaves, red chillies and hing. Temper the chutney with this mixture. You can add curd at this stage.
