Description A tangy dhal made with raw mangoes
Ingredients
- 1 cup Tuvar dhal
- 1/2 cup chopped onions
- 4 green chillies
- 1 cup grated raw mango ( sour variety without the skin)
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 4 pods garlic
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 5-6 curry leaves
- 2-3 red chilles
- 1tsp oil
- salt to taste
Method
- Boil the dhal with turmeric and salt
- Heat the oil in a kadai.
- Add the mustard seeds, curry leaves, red chillies and garlic.
- Add the onions and saute till light brown in colour
- Add the green chillies and grated mango and cook till the mango is soft.
- Add this to the cooked dhal and simmer for a few minutes
